Playing the game of golf is a great past time, and improving upon your game by attending one of the many golfing schools in 2, 3, or 5 day programs is a great investment. There are a number of great golfing schools throughout the U.S. in beautiful tourist friendly states like California, Nevada, Arizona, and Florida that provide an excellent atmosphere to play the game.

Most schools are even connected with a luxurious resort so you can plan a vacation around your golf education that will be fun for the whole family. There are also corporate golf programs that offer courses in golf geared towards business that are willing to hold their next corporate meeting at the resort locations.

Names like Bird Golf, Balance Point, National Golf, Ritson Sole, and Arnold Palmer Academy have many locations in the U.S., and have gained the respect of the golfing community by providing their students with the qualified and personal approach it requires to teach a variety of different skill levels how to play the game well.

There is another side of golfing education, however, that goes beyond a simple desire to learn to play the game correctly. For the more serious career oriented golfer there are a few golf academies that will provide you with the training to launch a golf management career in the business.

The San Diego Golf Academy is one such accredited golf university that offers a two year associate s degree in golf management with the design to prepare golfers to not only learn and improve upon the way they play the game, but also to jumpstart a lifetime career in the many different managerial facets of the game.

San Diego Golf Academy offers a 16 month associate s degree program, and is the largest golf college of its kind. The SDGA has four campus locations: San Diego, Orlando, Phoenix, and Myrtle Beach; all gorgeous locations that have scenery and an atmosphere conducive to golf.

Most institutions, however, offer an associate s degree and various certification, but they do not offer a Bachelor s degree in the field of study. There other universities that do offer further golf education online that can lead to a bachelor s degree, but you are required to first attend an associate s degree program such as the one offered by SDGA before enrolling in the online program.

Virginia College is one college that offers a two year online course that will take your associate s degree training to the next level of business management. Virginia College prepares the golf businessperson for a career managing their own golf course or other golf related facilities. The program they offer helps improve critical thinking abilities, management training, and overall leadership development.

Not all golfing educations lead to being a pro golfer, and for the person who truly enjoys the game as a game, and would like a career option that does not rely so much on their personal skills as a golfer than perhaps golf management at one of these top golf academies would be the right option.

Sliding forward on the downswing creates many problems. Watch and learn how the downswing should unwind.
Help answer the question about Golf Academy
Where can I find a golf academy on a tropical island?
I normally take a vacation once a year over the Christmas and New Year Holiday. This year I have gotten serious about golf and would like to incorporate golf with my vacation, so I am looking for a tropical destination (beautiful beaches: Hawaii, Cost Rica, Caribbean destination, etc.) that has a golf academy.

Golf academies can help you improve your golf swing by giving you pointers in many different areas of the game. Whether it be paying attention to the position of your knees or paying attention to your forearms during a swing, golf academies are the premier place to lower your score.

One important factor that should not be ignored is where your hands and forearms are right when your club impacts the ball. To work on this, stand in your position that you are in when impact occurs. Flip your trailing wrist as if you were casting a fishing pole. This is something that you should never do, and is called a wrist break. Not flipping your wrist will add distance and reduce your slice.

Another aspect of golf that golf academies can help you with involves your knee. A lot of golfers collapse their left knee towards the right knee during the backswing. This makes your hips sway and your shoulders drop, negatively affecting your swing. To correct this, you should keep your knees towards your target. Many experts suggest imagining holding a basketball between your knees, not letting it drop. Your hand position during the backswing is a key variable that will determine the success of your swing. Your top hand should be held in a hitchhiker like position, thumb extended. Another way to think of it is to imagine your hand being held out in a sort of handshake position, with the palm neither up nor down. Paying attention to your hands will make sure that you start a great swing off on the right foot.
A common mistake that people make when they first begin instruction at golf academies is that they are too quick to swing.

Once the backswing reaches the sky there should be a slight pause, which gets the golfer into a stable rhythm during his swing. Being too quick to change direction during a swing is something that the golfer must make a mental note of to improve his game.

To avoid poor contact with the ball and a large loss of power during your swing, pay attention to your right knee. On the backswing, it is very important to keep your weight on the inside of the right foot. You also should keep your knee slightly bent, and avoid locking the knee. Doing this will help your force get behind the ball, sending it farther out.

Wind is often an issue during a golf game, and often, players assume that in windy conditions, they should hit the ball harder and faster to compensate for the wind. This is a bad idea, because that causes the ball to go higher, and also will make the ball spin, usually somewhat out of control. So when the day is windy, use a longer club than you normally would on a calm day, keep your hands forward, and swing easy. Control is the name of the game when the wind is really flying!
